As a store that offers books, toys, gifts, and other products that help our customers live a more sustainable lifestyle, it only makes sense that we practice this as well. It also lowers our operational cost in energy consumption, disposable waste, and consumables. We created our shop with sustainablity in mind, LED lights, recycled carpet squares, recycled furnishings, swamp coolers instead of air conditioning, recycled office materials, and we offer a soap refilling station so that customers can refill existing containers with organic, earth-friendly laundry, dish, and hand soap. We are proud to have received the Sustainable San Mateo Award in 2014.
