About
The Santa Barbara County Air Pollution Control District regulates stationary sources of air pollution, and monitors local air quality conditions, throughout the county.
The air district office in Santa Barbara was built with an energy-efficient design, wooden materials from sustainably harvested forests, fewer watts of lighting per square foot than most buildings, and drought-tolerant landscaping.
Why we're Green
As part of the process to get certified under the Santa Barbara County Green Business Program, the air district installed low-flow aerators on all bathroom faucets and a rain sensor on the building’s irrigation system. The air district also began using 100 percent recycled copy paper.
The air district also includes electric vehicles in its pool car fleet and provides publicly accessible electric vehicle charging stations outside of its Santa Bar
