swissnex San Francisco, located at Pier 17, is part of the global swissnex Network for international collaboration. Our mission is to connect people and ideas from Switzerland and the San Francisco Bay Area to foster exchange in research, education, innovation, and the arts. Inspiring collaboration across disciplines, industry, and borders, we host universities, startups, corporates, artists, and designers in our space at Pier 17. We also program a range of events, workshops, conferences, exhibitions, and innovation exchanges that explore the ideas and issues that shape our society.
The swissnex global network consists of five locations and outposts established in the world’s most innovative hubs. Together with around twenty Science and Technology Offices (STO) and Counselors (STC) based in Swiss Embassies, they contribute to strengthen Switzerland’s profile as a world-leading innovation hotspot.

Why we're Green
swissnex SF is committed to being a sustainable workplace by incorporating sustainability into our core business operations through internal and external efforts. Specifically, we have adopted these best practices in order to be a green business:
We are limiting the purchase of single serving items such as water bottles by using our filtered-water dispenser built into our office.
We only buy re-chargeable ink toner for our printers.
Guidelines and on-site training has been provided to educate the team about recycling and using the adequate bin.
Recycling efficiently is also a key component for all exhibition building and material handling.
We are committed to purchase only cleaning products that are certified or approved by the City and County of San Francisco as well as limiting the purchase of toxic material such as buying LED lights and avoid purchasing any aerosol cans.
We are limiting our printing needs and if unavoidable we print double-sided and in black and white.
