Before Canyon Market opened, our mission was to work in sustainable ways, partnering with producers who add life to the soil, treat our waterways and oceans with care, and bring vitality to the communities we work in. We made our building with as environmentally friendly fixtures as possible and repurposed materials. We select our products with consideration to sustainability, non-GMO ingredients, and minimal packaging. We are a drop-off spot for batteries, fluorescent bulbs and cooking grease. We joined the SF Green Business Program to solidify our commitment to green practices and sustainability, since these are core values of our natural foods grocery business. It helps us do better when we have added accountability and oversight, and at the same time we want to broadcast to our staff and customers that we're taking significant actions to reduce our carbon footprint and increase our recycling and composting.
