Why we're Green
At Sciex, we recognized several environmental challenges that needed to be addressed to align with our sustainability goals. One of the key issues we faced was our reliance on single-use plastics in laboratory operations and outdated, energy-inefficient fixtures across our sites. Transitioning from these practices required us to rethink how we manage our resources and adopt more eco-friendly solutions.
To overcome these challenges, we implemented several key changes:
We replaced single-use plastics with sustainable alternatives wherever possible.
We upgraded from 32 watt fluorescents bulbs to 10w LED! from 5,000 hrs usable life to 50,000 hrs life!
We made changes to how recycling, composting is used to reduce waste, including the use of compostable bags and more waste segregation.
Our HVAC is now on a schedule, lowering our GHG!
These changes, incremental, have been instrumental in helping us achieve the CGBC!
