The mission of CCWD is to strategically provide a reliable supply of high-quality water at the lowest cost possible, in an environmentally responsible manner. It is also the goal of CCWD to practice environmental stewardship by protecting natural resources and minimizing environmental impacts in our business activities. Additionally, as a local agency partner of the Contra Costa County Green Business Program, CCWD desires to set an example and walk the talk by also being a certified Green Business. This certification recognizes CCWD’s commitment to environmental stewardship and demonstrates that CCWD is providing employees with a safe, environmentally friendly, and healthy workplace. As a Certified Green Business, CCWD has met over 125 sustainability measures in the areas of water efficiency, energy efficiency, pollution prevention, solid waste and recycling, transportation, and wastewater and hazardous materials.
